Welcome to Gympie Dog Obedience Club!
Gympie Dog Obedience Club is affiliated with Dogs Qld and as such part of our teaching is aimed at helping people to train their dogs for all avenues of dogs sports; be it Obedience, Agility, Flyball, Canine Disc, Tracking trials or Lure Coursing. We encourage everyone that joins our Club to come to our trials, be helpers on the day and to observe the dogs competing to see if it is something they might like to try themselves.
The other part of our teaching aim is to assist members of the public train their dogs to become good canine citizens thus keeping them in their forever homes. This training helps build a bond between the dog and handler, with the result being a well behaved dog which is something we are all aiming for. If the handler then chooses to enter our trials, they are already on their way to preparing themselves and their dogs for these events.
Our Club is totally run on a volunteer basis. We have all been involved in various forms of dog sports and find it very rewarding passing on what we have learnt to new members.
We believe that the Club plays an important role in our community.
